Old Catholic Pauilsts Clergy
The Old Catholic Order of Paul the Apostle does not pay its Clergy any salary or stipends. Stipends or fees may be earned through ministry work, with the prior approval of the Superior General. All Clergy are to be “self-sustaining” and must provide for their own station in life; i.e., secular job. Part of the application process will determine a candidate’s financial ability to support his personal life, family obligations, and ministry.
Disclaimer
Clergy of the Old Catholic Order of Paul the Apostle are not employees of the Order; they are members. Clergy are considered to be "Independent Contractors". The Order shall be held harmless for the actions and statements of its members.
Priests
We accept applications for Incardination Old Catholic Priests who have been Ordained by a Bishop holding valid Apostolic Succession.
We do not allow for dual-membership with any other jurisdiction, as we feel that an Old Catholic Paulist Priest must dedicate his entire service to the faithful through the Old Catholic Order of Paul the Apostle. As our Lord stated, “No one can serve two masters”. (Matt 6:24)
If you are an Old Catholic Priest who feels Called to serve as an Old Catholic Paulist Priest, please feel free to "Contact Us", and the Order’s Superior General will contact you to discuss your vocation.
Candidates
The Old Catholic Paulists are accepting applications from men, either married or single, who feel a Call to Holy Orders. If you feel a Calling to serve our Lord and are interested in our Order, please “Contact Us”, and the Order’s Superior General will contact you to discuss your vocation.
We offer training in Holy Orders in the Apostolic tradition of mentorship under the Order’s Bishop. The training includes formal study, through distance learning, in the Old Catholic Paulists Theological Seminary. In addition to formal study, a practicum of hands-on training, under the directorship of the Order’s Bishop, will be accomplished during the period of Transitional Deaconate.
The entire Seminary Program takes between one to two years to complete. During that time, candidates will also be working with local Priests of the Order to study, learn, and pray.
